Two notorious drug peddlers arrested in Bishnah; heroin recovered

JAMMU, Jan 3: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under "Operation Sanjeevani," the J&K Police achieved another success with the arrest of two notorious drug peddlers and the recovery of 7 grams of heroin ("Chitta").
On January 3, 2025, a dedicated team from Police Station Bishnah conducted routine patrolling in the area. During the patrolling, a naka was established at Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah. The team apprehended two suspects identified as:
Showkat Ali alias Shonku, son of Mir Hussain, resident of Sikanderpur, Bishnah
Khadim Hussain alias Tudiya, son of Alam Din, resident of Sikanderpur, Bishnah
Upon a thorough search, the police recovered 7 grams of heroin ("Chitta") from their possession. Both suspects were immediately taken into custody, and a case was registered against them under FIR No. 02/2025, U/S 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bishnah.
This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Jammu Police to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to support law enforcement in eradicating the drug menace from society.
J&K Police expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and reaffirmed their dedication to making the region drug-free through continued and focused efforts.
