Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: In a successful operation, Udhampur Police foiled an attempt to smuggle 24 bovines in a vehicle at Tikri. The police team, led by the Incharge of Police Post Tikri, was performing routine vehicle checks when they intercepted a Canter vehicle (Registration No. HR63C-5664) for inspection. Upon checking, the police found 24 bovines being illegally transported in a cruel manner without any valid permits. The driver of the vehicle, Sabnoor, son of Jamil, resident of H.No 65, Nakur, Saharanpur road, Khazoor, Heri, U.P., was arrested on the spot. All the rescued bovines were safely shifted to a secure location. A case under FIR No. 02/2025, Sections 223 BNS and 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal. The investigation is currently ongoing. |
