‘Postpone Shri Ram Temple visit amid unprecedented rush’

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 28: As pilgrims of ongoing Mahakumbh are moving to Ayodhya to have darshan of Ram Lalla after having Sanan at Sangam at Prayagraj, the holy town has witnessed an unprecedented rush of devotees.
Authorities are finding it difficult to control the devotees, coming from all over the country to have darshan of Ram Lalla at the newly constructed Shri Ram temple at Ayodhya.
During the last 24 hours, nearly 25 lakh devotees have performed darshan of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya and their numbers are swelling with every hour.
Keeping in view the prevailing situation, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary, Champat Rai, has issued a heartfelt appeal to devotees, particularly those from Uttar Pradesh, urging them to postpone their visits to the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya due to an unprecedented rush of pilgrims from across the country.
This surge in visitors coincides with the upcoming ‘Mukhya Snan’ (main bathing ritual) for Mauni Amavasya at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on January 29, 2025.
It is estimated that approximately 10 crore devotees will take a holy dip in Prayagraj on this auspicious day, making it one of the most significant events of the year for Hindu devotees. Additionally, a substantial number of these pilgrims are traveling onward from Prayagraj to Ayodhya via train and road, contributing to the extraordinary crowd at the temple.
Over the past three days, Ayodhya has witnessed an overwhelming increase in the number of devotees arriving to seek the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla. The small yet spiritually significant city is finding it increasingly difficult to accommodate and manage such large crowds. Given the size and infrastructure of Ayodhya Dham, ensuring a smooth darshan experience for every visitor has become a significant challenge.
The authorities have noted that the current influx of devotees is causing inconvenience to many, as arrangements are stretched to their limits. Long queues and the necessity to walk considerable distances to reach the temple premises have added to the challenges faced by pilgrims. To prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety and convenience of visitors, necessary adjustments in the logis

ical and administrative framework are being implemented.
Recognizing the challenges posed by this overwhelming crowd, Champat Rai has made a special request to devotees from nearby areas in Uttar Pradesh to consider postponing their visit to Ayodhya for 15-20 days. By doing so, they can help ease the burden on the temple administration and ensure that devotees traveling from distant locations can have a more manageable darshan experience.
Champat Rai highlighted that after Vasant Panchami, the influx of pilgrims is expected to decrease significantly. Additionally, February offers pleasant weather, making it an ideal time for devotees from nearby areas to plan their visits without facing the current inconveniences.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra and the local administration are working tirelessly to manage the situation and ensure that the spiritual aspirations of devotees are met without compromising on safety and convenience. From enhancing crowd control measures to improving logistical arrangements, efforts are underway to address the challenges posed by this unprecedented rush.
Champat Rai expressed deep gratitude to all devotees for their unwavering faith and devotion. He emphasized that this temporary appeal is being made in the interest of everyone’s safety and comfort. “We humbly request you to cooperate with us during this extraordinary time and plan your visit in a way that ensures convenience for all,” he said.
By staggering visits and spreading out the influx of pilgrims over a longer period, the administration aims to provide every devotee with an opportunity to experience the divine grace of Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla without undue hardships.
As Ayodhya continues to serve as a beacon of faith and spirituality, this proactive step will help preserve the sanctity and serenity of this sacred site. Devotees are encouraged to heed this appeal and plan their visits thoughtfully, contributing to the collective well-being of the larger community of worshippers.
“Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla’s blessings are with all his devotees,” said Champat Rai, adding, “With your understanding and cooperation, we are confident that everyone will have a memorable and peaceful darshan experience.”
