Arvind stresses for rectification of drainage system on flyover at Akhnoor Road

JAMMU, Jan 28: Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu North Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, General Manager NHIDCL S.S. Sangawan, District President Rajesh Gupta, Mandal President Kushant Daffara, and Anil Angral, convened a crucial meeting to review the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects in the Jammu region. The meeting focused on addressing key challenges affecting residents, particularly issues arising due to inadequate drainage systems.
MLA Arvind Gupta raised serious concerns regarding the persistent problem of rainwater drainage from the flyover, which is flooding residential areas and causing severe hardships to the residents. He emphasized the dire need for immediate corrective measures, including the rectification of a proper drainage system to prevent waterlogging.
Arvind urged NHIDCL and concerned authorities to expedite remedial action, ensuring that citizens do not continue to suffer due to infrastructural shortcomings.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma assured that all necessary steps would be taken to resolve the issue at the earliest. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that development projects do not adversely impact the common people.
The Member Parliament directed NHIDCL officials to undertake a thorough assessment and implement a long-term solution to prevent further inconvenience. He also highlighted the Centre's continued focus on infrastructure development in Jammu and assured that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region would witness significant progress. General Manager NHIDCL, S.S. Sangawan, assured the public representatives that immediate action would be taken to address the concerns raised.
