Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 28: Green Campus Task Force (GCFT-JU) in collaboration with Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (JDPCL) organized a 'One-day awareness drive on PM-SURYA GHAR-MUFT BIJLI YOJANA'near Fountain Plaza, University of Jammu, Jammu. Prof. Anju Basin, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu (JU), the Chief Guest during the occasion, formally inaugurated the event in presence of Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Registrar and Dr. Ginny Dogra, Director, DIQA, JU. The awareness drive was organized to inform and guide the electricity consumers, particularly the University employees on how they can reduce their monthly electricity bills by upto 50% through the installation of rooftop solar plants at their respective households at a reduced cost.The purpose of this scheme is to improve the solar energy generation capacity of the UT of J&K. The officials of the JDPCL along with the registered vendors interacted with the University employees and encouraged them to avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme. Staff of J&K Bank, New University Campus,along with Branch Head, Mrs. Nidhi Jamwal were also present during the occasion and provided the information to the stakeholders on the loan facility and the financial assistance that can be provided by the bank on subsidized rates to support such initiatives. Among those present during the occasion included Prof. Piyush Malaviya, Convener, GCTF-JU,Dr. Deepika Slathia, Member Secretary, GCTF-JU, Ms. Dhritika Singh, JR Finance, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, IME, Bhaderwah Campus, Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria, Dr. Ranjan Sharma, Dr. Ravinder, Dr. Dinesh, Mr.Ashok Chibber, XEN, ED-II Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Er. Mohd. Tayyab AEE, Er. Paramjit Singh, AE, JDPCL, Nodal officer JU, Er. Vikram Gupta. Jr. Engineer, Munish Chib, Foreman), Kuldeep Kumar (Lineman) and Sanjeev Kumar (Meter reader). Some of the vendors registered with JPDCL from Jammu region viz., M/S Aditi Enterprises, M/S Abrol Infrastructures, M/S Prakash Aaditya Energy, M/S Accolade Enterprises and M/S Envictas Solar were also present and provided the technical information regarding the installation, management and other associated aspects of the solar rooftop panels. The scholars and students from various departments and volunteers of GCTF-JU also participated in the event and interacted with the officials regarding the benefits of the scheme. |
