Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 7: In an effort to raise awareness about cancer prevention and early detection, Dr. Rajesh Singh, a renowned oncologist, GMC Jammu , delivered an informative lecture on " Cancer Awareness" at MAM College Jammu on 7th Feb, 2025 organised by the NCC Unit of the College. The session aimed to educate the students about the risks, symptoms, and preventive measures associated with cancer. During his address, Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and a healthy lifestyle in reducing cancer risks. He also highlighted recent advancements in cancer research and treatment options, urging individuals to be proactive about their health. "Cancer is a major health challenge, but awareness and timely medical intervention can significantly improve outcomes. It is essential for people to adopt preventive measures and seek medical advice at the earliest signs of concern," said Dr. Singh. The lecture was attended by NCC cadets, staffs, who engaged in a lively Q&A session with Dr. Singh. Many participants expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared, reinforcing the need for continued awareness campaigns. The event was organized by NCC Unit of the college as part of World Cancer Day/Cancer Awareness week initiatives, aiming to empower communities with knowledge and resources to fight cancer effectively. The whole program is coordinated by the Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC Officer of the college.
