BISHNAH, Feb 7: Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports), successfully organized a vibrant sports event under the banner of the Fit India Movement. Spearheaded by the Anti-Drug Club, the initiative aimed to foster healthy living, sportsmanship, and a drug-free environment among the youth.
The event featured a variety of sports competitions, including volleyball (boys), kho-kho (girls), 100-meter sprints, badminton (boys and girls), and shot put. Students from GDC Bishnah and Government Higher Secondary School Boys actively participated, displaying remarkable enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
Winners List:
Volleyball (Boys): Team GDC Bishnah clinched victory with outstanding teamwork and skill.
100-Meter Sprint (Boys): Aadil Khokher secured first place, followed by Himanshu Sharma in second and Shivanshu Saini in third (all from Government Higher Secondary School Bishnah).
100-Meter Sprint (Girls): Sonia Thakyal emerged victorious, with Neelakshi and Roshan Bibi securing second and third places, respectively (all from GDC Bishnah).

A significant highlight of the event was the solemn pledge taken by participants, faculty, and guests to remain drug-free. Led by Dr. Ratika Sharma and Dr. Ashma Gupta, Nodal Officers of the Anti-Drug Club, the pledge reinforced the commitment to a healthier and substance-free society.
The event was successfully conducted under the leadership of the esteemed Principal of GDC Bishnah, Dr. Shallu Samyal, whose unwavering support and vision played a crucial role. Special appreciation was extended to Dr. Ranjeeta Bali (PTI), Rakshant Sharma (President, Yuva Shakti Jagran Sankalp Club), and the dedicated college sports committee, convened by Dr. Sunil Saliada, for their relentless efforts in ensuring the event's success.
The collaboration between GDC Bishnah, Nehru Yuva Kendra, and the Fit India Movement underscored the importance of youth engagement in fitness and well-being. By merging sports with the message of healthy living, the event successfully promoted physical fitness, teamwork, and a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.
