Bootlegger arrested, 50 quarters of Whisky, Scooty seized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 7: In a continued crackdown on illegal liquor trade, Jammu Police arrested a bootlegger and seized 50 quarters of JK Special whisky along with a scooty in the Manwal area of District Jammu. A police team from Police Post (PP) Manwal, led by Incharge PP, intercepted a scooty (JK02CQ-5750) at Nadal Naka. The vehicle was driven by Ved Prakash alias Babbu, son of Tara Mani, a resident of Jindrah, Manwal. Upon searching, 50 quarters of illicit whisky were recovered. A case has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli under the Excise Act, and the accused has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway. The local public has lauded the police for their continued efforts in curbing bootlegging and ensuring strict enforcement of the law. |
