| ADDC Reasi flags off Sugamya Yatra | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Feb 7: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Reasi Sukhdev Singh Samyal today flagged off the Sugamya Yatra-a unique awareness initiative for Divyangjans on specially designed bikes. The yatra commenced from the DC Office Complex and proceeded to the Bus Stand Reasi, highlighting the importance of accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Organized by the Social Welfare Department Reasi under the leadership of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Sachin Sharma, the yatra aims to sensitize stakeholders about the challenges faced by Divyangjans and their rights under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016. This initiative seeks to create mass awareness and encourage collective responsibility toward building a more accessible environment.
ADDC Reasi highlighted that The Sugamya Yatra 2025 focuses on key aspects such as awareness creation, stakeholder mobilization, and the use of digital tools like the "Yes to Access" mobile app. The event saw participation from representatives of the disability sector, local NGOs, accessibility auditors, and government officials, all working collaboratively to promote inclusivity and accessibility for Divyangjans. Event was graced by ADC Reasi Rakesh Kumar, DIO (Info) Ujwal Sambyal, CMO, Social welfare team and other officials. |
