Sham Lal Sharma urges youth to leverage KVIB employment generation schemes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 7: MLA Jammu North, Sh. Sham Lal Sharma, presided over an Awareness Camp at Mishriwala, Jammu, organized by the J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) to promote entrepreneurship and employment generation among the youth, particularly women and marginalized communities. Addressing the gathering, Sh. Sham Lal Sharma lauded KVIB's role in fostering self-employment and stressed the need for enhanced awareness campaigns to ensure that local communities fully benefit from the available government schemes. He emphasized that with strategic planning, investment, and support, the sector has the potential to become a key driver of economic growth and livelihood enhancement. He further underscored the active participation of all sectors, particularly the youth and women, in these employment-driven initiatives. Sharma also commended the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose guidance the government has launched transformative self-employment schemes aimed at empowering individuals, reducing unemployment, and strengthening India's economic foundation. He urged young entrepreneurs to seize these golden opportunities designed to foster innovation, skill development, and financial independence. He further emphasized that such initiatives will not only create employment opportunities but also uplift the economic status of individuals across the state. By encouraging self-reliance and entrepreneurship, these schemes play a crucial role in reducing dependency on government jobs, promoting small-scale industries, and strengthening the socio-economic fabric of Jammu & Kashmir. Sharma urged everyone, especially the youth and women, to actively participate in these programs and make the most of the government's initiatives for financial growth and sustainable development. During the event, the Deputy CEO, Jammu Division, provided a comprehensive presentation on the J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). These credit-linked subsidy schemes offer financial assistance to youth and aspiring entrepreneurs through a streamlined online application process. Additionally, the Modified Market Development Assistance (MMDA) scheme was highlighted, which provides incentives to Khadi artisans, helping them enhance productivity and competitiveness. The event witnessed the participation of senior officers from KVIB, banking representatives, and a large number of aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed youth, who engaged in discussions on leveraging these schemes for self-reliance and economic upliftment. |
