JSSJ hosts Inter-School Solo Singing Competition

JAMMU, Mar 1: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu proudly organized an Inter-School Solo Singing Competition for Teachers under the Sahodaya initiative, celebrating the essence of folk music and honoring the invaluable role of educators in preserving cultural heritage. The event saw enthusiastic participation from teachers across various schools, who captivated the audience with their melodious performances of traditional folk songs from different regions of India.
The occasion was graced by Suraj Singh an eminent ghazalist and top graded artist and Brij Mohan a renowned music composer as special guests cum judges along with Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School , Jammu. Their presence added grandeur to the event, reinforcing the significance of music in fostering cultural awareness. The event commenced with a sapling presentation and lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing growth, knowledge, and enlightenment. The dignitaries addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of folk music in preserving traditions and fostering a sense of unity.
In her address, Rohini Aima applauded the efforts of the participating teachers and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in keeping the folk traditions alive. The eminent guests praised the participants for their dedication, stating, "Music transcends boundaries, and folk songs are a beautiful way of connecting with our roots. It is heartening to see educators leading by example and keeping these traditions alive for future generations."
The participants impressed the audience and judges alike with their soulful performances, making it a tough competition. Three consolation prizes were awarded which went to Rajan Kumar- APS Kaluchak, Manmohan Janotra-Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua and Anu Jamwal-APS Akhnoor. Whereas the prize winners were, first prize went to Aman Sub- IDPS, Jammu, Second prize went to Diksha Verma-Doon International School, Jammu and the third prize went to Vertika Sharma-Model Academy, Jammu. The winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates as a token of appreciation for their remarkable talent. In addition, all esteemed guests were honored with felicitation mementos as a mark of respect and gratitude.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team, participants, and dignitaries for making the event a resounding success. Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu remains committed to fostering holistic learning and promoting cultural appreciation through such artistic endeavors.
