| Seized 1200 Kgs of banned polythene bags | | |  Early Times Report
Nowshera, Apr 19: Today on 19.04.2025, during traffic checking duty at Naka Point Thalka, NHW Nowshera, one vehicle Mahindra Bolero bearing No. JK02DL- 0708 was coming from Jammu side towards Rajouri was stopped for checking purpose. On enquiry, the driver of said vehicle disclosed his name as Deepak Gupta S/O Romesh Chander Gupta R/O Muthi, Tehsil and District Jammu and his associate disclosed his name as Rahul Vaid S/o Rajiv Vaid R/o Paloura A/P Pacca Danga Tehsil and District Jammu.
During search of the said vehicle, 48 numbers of Plastic bags containing polythene bags, weighing 25 Kgs each (total weight 1200 Kgs approx.) found loaded in the said vehicle. Thereafter, I/C Naka asked them to produce permission regarding transportation of polythene bags, but they are unable to produce any legal permission/documents. It clearly depicts that both the aforesaid persons have illegally transporting the banned polythene bags without any legal permission and violating SRO 353 Govt. of J&K. Thereafter, as per laid down procedure, said vehicle alongwith loaded banned polythene bags have been seized under relevant sections of J&K Non Biodegradable Material Management Handling and Disposal Act 2007 and the same message conveyed to the Divisional Officer Rajouri, Polution Control Committee for legal action as per rules. |
