Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 19: While incumbent leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Congress have urged the party high command to take exemplary action against those indulging in creating indiscipline, a senior central leader is shielding and protecting those who have raised a banner of revolt against Tariq Hamid Karra and Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
Sources said that a senior Congress leader managed a meeting of these dissidents with visiting All India Congress Committee general secretary and newly appointed incharge of J&K Congress, Dr Syed Naseer Hussain.
“Instead of giving a real briefing to Dr. Hussain, this central leader presented another picture and convinced the AICC general secretary to give adequate time to those who have launched a campaign of J&K Congress chief Tariq Hamid Karra and AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir”, sources said, adding, “There is strong resentment against that central le

There is strong resentment against that central leader who was also helm of the affairs during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections.
der who was also helm of the affairs during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections”.
Sources said that the central leader, who is projecting and shielding opponents of Kara and Mir, has a personal equation with another senior J&K-based party leader.
As reported earlier, during first week of this month, a group of Congress workers from Jammu and Kashmir gathered outside the AICC headquarters, raising slogans against Karra and Mir, whom they blamed for the party’s decline in the region.
After this incident, the top brass of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir on April 7, sought stern action against the acts of indiscipline indulged in by a few individuals in the recent days, terming it against the interests of the party.
Interestingly, instead of taking action against these leaders, a central leader has taken the responsibility to shield and protect them within the party.
