JKHCBAJ urges LG, CM for appointment of Advocate General | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 28: The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu in a letter addressed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have requested for urgent appointment of Advocate General for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. While projecting the request, K. Nirmal Kotwal, President of the Association expressed the difficulties faced by the advocates in getting the relief from Advocates' Welfare Fund as the Advocate General is the ex-officio member of the Advocates' Welfare Fund Committee, and due to the non-appointment of the Advocate General, the functioning of the Welfare Fund has been severely affected, due to which many files relating to the welfare claims of the advocates are pending approval, resulting in undue hardship to many advocates and their families. The office bearers requested the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to expedite the appointment of Advocate General, ensuring the effective operation of the Welfare Fund and prompt relief to the affected members. |
