SAMBA, Apr 28: In a continued crackdown against illegal mining activities, the Samba Police seized seven vehicles, including six dumpers and one tractor trolley, for illegal transportation and mining of construction materials in the jurisdictions of Police Stations Vijaypur and Ghagwal.
Police teams, led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur, SHO Police Station Ghagwal, and Incharge Police Post Rajpura under PS Ghagwal, carried out patrolling operations in their respective areas and intercepted the vehicles engaged in unauthorized mining activities.
The seized vehicles include six dumpers bearing registration numbers JK21K-1717, JK21H-9070, JK21J-0737, JK21J-7583, JK21-8722, and one dumper without a registration plate, along with a tractor trolley bearing registration number JK21B-3152.
The seized vehicles were subsequently handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further legal proceedings.
The Samba Police reiterated their commitment to acting firmly against illegal mining practices and urged the public to cooperate by reporting any such activities in their areas. |
