Kavinder slams Congress leaders for their soft stance on Pakistan after Pahalgam tragedy | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 28: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders for their soft stand towards Pakistan in the wake of the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 Hindu pilgrims. He said it is shocking and unfortunate that even after such a horrifying tragedy, certain Congress leaders continue to exhibit sympathy towards Pakistan rather than standing firmly with the nation. In a media statement issued here today, Kavinder Gupta particularly criticized Congress leaders like Saifuddin Soz, Mani Shankar Aiyar and other Congress leaders accusing them of having an undying soft corner for Pakistan despite its hand in destabilizing peace in Jammu and Kashmir. "The entire world has condemned the barbaric attack in Pahalgam, yet Congress leaders are trying to provide a clean chit to Pakistan, hurting the sentiments of every Indian," he remarked. Referring to former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz's controversial remarks, Kavinder said it is highly irresponsible for a senior leader to suggest that if Pakistan claims non-involvement, India should accept it 'for a time' and rely solely on investigative agencies. "At a time when the country is mourning the death of innocent Hindu tourists, talking about 'dialogue' with the perpetrators is not just insensitive but amounts to rubbing salt into the wounds of the victims' families," he added. The senior BJP leader also slammed Mani Shankar Aiyar for his past statements glorifying Pakistan and questioned how long Congress leaders would continue prioritizing their misplaced political narratives over national interest. " Such mindsets are dangerous for India's unity and integrity," he asserted. The former Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that Pakistan must be held fully accountable for its role in sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and urged Congress leaders to introspect rather than shielding the enemy. "No amount of appeasement will absolve Pakistan of its sins. Congress should stop indulging in politics of confusion and stand united with the nation against terrorism," he added. |
