Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Aadil has been reinstated into service after the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir ordered the closure of departmental proceedings, sources said on Tuesday.
Official sources said that the move followed the investigating agency’s report which found “no substance” in the allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act, closing the case as “not proved.” The Hon’ble Court also dismissed the charge sheet for allied offences under the Indian Penal Code after due consideration.
They said the Inquiry Commission, after “detailed and impartial examination,” fully exonerated Dy. SP Sheikh Aadil of all charges. “Simultaneously, the Intelligence Wing carried out its independent assessment and issued a clean chit,” the sources added.
“In light of these findings, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has formally closed the departmental proceedings as ‘not proved’ and ordered his immediate reinstatement into service,” the sources confirmed.
