‘Traffic on Mughal Road allowed only till 4:30 PM’

JAMMU, Aug 28: The District Magistrate Poonch on Thursday issued a fresh advisory regulating vehicular movement on Mughal Road in view of prevailing weather conditions and to ensure safety of commuters.
According to the order, Kashmir-bound traffic from Chandimarh will be permitted only till 4:30 PM. “No movement of vehicles shall be allowed under any circumstances after 4:30 PM except in cases of medical emergencies or government duty authorized by the Competent Authority,” the advisory stated.
Similarly, Jammu-bound traffic from Peer Ki Gali will be allowed only up to 4:00 PM, with the same exceptions for emergencies and official duties.
The general public has been advised to strictly adhere to the timings and plan travel accordingly. The administration also urged people to cooperate to avoid obstruction and inconvenience.
The advisory, issued in the interest of public safety, traffic management and smooth movement of vehicles, directed Police, ADMs, SDMs, Tehsildars, SHOs and other officials to ensure strict compliance.
