 GURDASPUR, Oct 9: The Sports Section and Sportsmen Unified (SU) Club of Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur, organized a Basketball Open Tournament on 8th October 2025 at the University Basketball Court.
The tournament was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. K. Misra, along with Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar. Addressing the participants, the Vice-Chancellor inspired the players to exhibit sportsmanship, discipline, and enthusiasm, emphasizing that sports are instrumental in shaping leadership qualities, teamwork, and physical well-being among students.
A total of four teams participated in the competition, showcasing remarkable energy and competitive zeal. The matches were conducted under the knockout format, consisting of three thrilling encounters that kept the audience engaged throughout.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Shubham Nath Tiwari (President, SU Club) and Rajneesh Kumar (Vice President, SU Club) under the supervision of Pritpal Singh (DPE). Their dedicated efforts and meticulous planning ensured the smooth execution of the tournament.
The tournament concluded on a positive note with appreciation extended to all the participants, volunteers, and organizers for their wholehearted efforts.
