JAMMU/COLOMBO, Jan 20: Dr Anila Singh Charak a renowned poetess Gazalkar and Vyangyakar has been conferred upon with Srilanka Bharat Hindi Gaurav Samman in Srilanka Colombo for her unmatched contributions in the field of literature, the award was presented to her by Director of High Commission Colombo Ankuran Datta and director of swami Vivekanand cultural centre Dr Atila Kothwala and Dr Neeta Subhashini.
Her book “Bare foot in the sand of life” (compilation of English poetry) was also released on the occassion, the book has been translated by herself from “Nange Paanv Zindagi,” which is the awarded from Sahitya Academy Jammu and Kashmir.

The programme was organised by Purvotra Hindi. Sahitya Academy and High Commission of India Srilanka at Swami vivekanand cultural centre Auditorium on this occasion Anila also participated in Kavi Sammellan, her Gazal was widely appreciated which mesmarised the audience and won thunderous applause the High Commission of India also invited her to the function of second Bharat Srilanka Vishv Hindi Sammellan, where a cultural programme was also organised the chief guest on the occasion was Secretary of High Commission of India to Shri Lanka Santosh Jha.

Dr Anila has been awarded with many prestigious awards including jammu and kashmir sahitya academy award bhartendu harishchandr award,mahadevi Verma samman and many more at National and international level and has brought laurels to her state

She is also a renowned painter and photographer and has displayed her art work world wide, she is also an eminent educationist and served the country as principal AEES, DAE BHABHA RESEARCH Centre MUMBAI (Govt of. India) as principal she won Homi Bhabha award and many more prestigious awards as best
Principal.she was selected as best principal and was invited by Hindustan Times in 2014 where she was honoured by Dr Abdul Kalam sahib our former president of India.the programme was organised in Delhi.
