His achievements continue to motivate academia, healthcare professionals, and aspiring leaders across the country.
A visionary leader, distinguished academician, and transformative institution builder, Prof. (Dr.) Shakti K. Gupta has made extraordinary contributions to healthcare leadership, hospital administration, policy, and medical education. Hailing from Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir, he is an alumnus of Government Medical College Jammu and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Beginning his illustrious career in J&K Health Services, he later served AIIMS New Delhi with distinction, where he headed the Department of Hospital Administration and pioneered numerous academic, administrative, and quality initiatives.
As the Founding Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Jammu, Prof. (Dr.) Shakti K. Gupta has transformed the AIIMS Jammu into a modern, patient-centric Center of Excellence. Under his visionary stewardship, AIIMS Jammu completed 43 major infrastructure projects in record time, earned the prestigious CPWD Best Project Award, and secured the 7th rank nationally among Government Medical Universities in 2025, emerging as the second highest-ranked institution after AIIMS New Delhi.
