LUCKNOW/JEWAR, May 1: A new chapter is set to be added to the aviation sector of North India. Noida International Airport (NIA) has announced that commercial flight operations from the airport will begin from June 15, 2026. With this, passengers of the National Capital Region (NCR) and western Uttar Pradesh, various airlines and cargo operators will get access to a modern and world-class aviation gateway.
This achievement is being considered the result of the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which infrastructure and connectivity in Uttar Pradesh have gained unprecedented momentum. In the series of development of expressways, defence corridor and industrial clusters, Jewar Airport has emerged as an important link.
Operations at the airport are beginning after inauguration by the Prime Minister and approval of the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). This approval indicates that the airport's security arrangements, systems and operational procedures are fully prepared in accordance with all regulatory standards.
The first commercial flight from Noida International Airport will be operated by IndiGo. After this, Akasa Air and Air India Express will also soon begin their services. Information regarding flight schedules, destinations and other facilities will be made public soon. Developed keeping in mind the rapidly increasing demand for air travel, this airport is equipped with a modern terminal, efficient operating systems and strong multimodal connectivity. Along with providing passengers a smooth and convenient travel experience, cost-effective operations have been ensured for airlines. The launch of commercial services from the airport will strengthen regional connectivity and create new opportunities for tourism, trade and investment.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, rapid work has been done over the last 9 years towards making Uttar Pradesh the country's leading logistics and aviation hub. Jewar Airport has been connected with the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways, Dedicated Freight Corridor and the proposed multimodal logistics hub. This project will not only reduce air traffic pressure in Delhi-NCR, but will also create new opportunities for investment, industrial development and employment generation in the state, which will play an important role in accelerating the goal of a 'One Trillion Dollar Economy'.
