Early Times Report JAMMU, May 11: The Department of Sports & Physical Education, Cluster University of Jammu, organized the Launching Ceremony of Kabaddi Mats at the Conference Hall, GGM Science College. The Kabaddi mats were generously provided by the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association with the objective of promoting sports culture and strengthening sports infrastructure in the University. The programme was graced by Sr. Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, with the distinguished guests Anupam Goswami, Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League, Business Head of Mashal & League Chairman - JioStar and Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association & Technical Director, Asian Kabaddi Federation. The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director Physical Education & Sports, Cluster University of Jammu who also presented welcome address and a brief report of the event. Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the growing importance of Kabaddi as a sport that reflects strength, discipline, teamwork, and the rich sporting heritage of India. The initiative was appreciated as a significant step towards encouraging students to actively participate in sports and achieve excellence at national and international levels. The Gold Medal Kabaddi Winning Team of the Chancellor's Trophy were congratulated by the signatories at the function. The programme was also attended by the Registrar, Dean Academic Affairs, Controller of Examinations, Dean Research Studies, all Deans of the Faculties, Principals of Constituent Colleges, FA/CAO, Dean Students Welfare, Directors and Coordinators of Cluster University of Jammu, Physical Directors and Sports Convenors of Constituent Colleges, Heads of Departments of GGM Science College, and Kabaddi players of Cluster University of Jammu. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof Sugandha Mahajan, Coordinator Botany CLUJ.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof DS Manhas, Dean Students welfare and a renewed commitment towards promoting sportsmanship and creating better opportunities for budding sportspersons in the University. |
