Early Times Report
RAMBAN, May 11: The District Ramban today witnessed an atmosphere of devotion, spirituality and cultural vibrancy as the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav was celebrated with great religious fervour across various temples, drawing enthusiastic participation from devotees, students, women and members of the local community.
District Administration Ramban led by Deputy Commissioner coordinated all the necessary arrangements for devotees to celebrate Somnath Amrut Mahotsav in the district
The celebrations commenced with a Kalash Yatra from the sacred banks of the Chenab River. Devotees, carrying beautifully decorated traditional earthen pots, proceeded in a spiritually charged procession towards Shiv Mandir Maitra amidst the chanting of bhajans, Vedic hymns and religious slogans.
Simultaneously, Raghunath Mandir Ramban emerged as the focal point of devotional activities where a soulful Satsang and Puja Archana were organised. Devotees from different parts of the district gathered to offer prayers and seek divine blessings. Religious scholars and local spiritual leaders addressed the gathering and highlighted the historical, cultural and religious significance of the Somnath Temple, one of India's most revered Jyotirlingas and a symbol of the nation's rich spiritual heritage.
A major attraction of the celebrations was the live screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address from the historic Somnath Temple in Gujarat.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Headquarters Reejuta Mahajan, besides other officers and prominent citizens. Students from local educational institutions also participated actively, adding youthful enthusiasm to the event.
The celebrations continued with Rudrabhishek and several other spiritual and cultural programmes at Shiv Mandir Suikhad Govindpura and other temples across the district.
Locals termed the event a meaningful initiative to preserve spiritual traditions and strengthen cultural values among the younger generation. The day-long celebrations concluded with the distribution of Prasad and collective prayers for peace, prosperity and harmony in the region.
