Throat-slit murder shocks Bari Brahmana

Jammu, May 18: A gruesome murder sent shockwaves across the Krishna Nagar area of Lower Kartholi, near the industrial hub of Bari Brahmana in Samba district, after a 32-year-old married woman was found brutally slain inside her house on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Anuradha, wife of Ajay Singh and a resident of Lower Kartholi, was discovered in a pool of blood with her throat slit, pointing to a cold-blooded and violent attack carried out by unidentified assailants.
The horrifying incident came to light around 10 a.m., when local residents alerted the police after noticing suspicious circumstances at the house. Within minutes, a team from Bari Brahmana Police Station rushed to the scene and found the woman lying dead inside her home.
Police immediately cordoned off the area and launched a detailed forensic examination of the crime scene. Investigators collected crucial evidence and began questioning family members, neighbours and other persons who may help unravel the circumstances leading to the murder.

The brutal nature of the killing has left residents of the locality stunned and terrified. As news spread through the densely populated neighbourhood, large numbers of people gathered outside the house, struggling to come to terms with the shocking crime. Fear and grief gripped the area, with many describing the murder as one of the most disturbing incidents to occur in the locality in recent years.
Police officials said the murder is being investigated from all possible angles, including personal enmity, domestic issues and other potential motives. Efforts are underway to identify and trace those responsible for the heinous crime.
“The investigation is being conducted on priority, and all aspects are under scrutiny,” a police officer said, adding that significant leads are being pursued.
The sensational killing has triggered widespread concern in the area and raised serious questions about the circumstances under which the young woman was attacked inside the supposed safety of her own home.
No arrests had been made till the filing of this report, and the hunt for the killers was continuing.
