Early Times Report RAMBAN, May 16: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Police Station Ramban achieved a significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering charas like substance from his possession during naka checking at Jullah Bridge, Ramban. Today, during traffic challaning and special naka checking conducted by a police party of Police Station Ramban at Jullah Bridge, Ramban, one person was noticed moving in a suspicious manner. Acting promptly, the police party apprehended the suspect and during questioning, he disclosed his identity as Sunil Singh S/O Partab Singh, aged about 25-26 years, R/O Balihote, Tehsil and District Ramban. During his personal search, approximately 115-120 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. In this regard, cognizance of the matter has been taken and FIR No. 117/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ramban. Further investigation into the matter is underway. District Police Ramban remains committed towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing any information related to drug peddling or other unlawful activities. |
