| Swami Ram Swarup highlights importance of Vedic spiritualism and righteous living | | | Early Times Report YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH), May 18: On the 37th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan of all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Swami Ram Swarup delivered a spiritual discourse explaining the deeper meaning of Rigveda Mantra 10/33/3 to devotees and seekers. While elaborating on the mantra, Swami Ram Swarup Ji said that a sorrowful person prays to Almighty God, expressing that mental desires and worldly attachments consume human beings in various ways. He compared this suffering to rats gnawing at their own body parts while feeding on grains and other edible substances. Explaining the spiritual significance, he said that similarly, human beings indulge in sinful and unrighteous deeds and ultimately suffer the painful consequences of their own actions. He emphasized that by abandoning actions opposed to the teachings of the Vedas and by engaging in sincere praise, prayer and worship of God according to Vedic principles, a person attains liberation (Moksha) and eternal peace. Further explaining the essence of another mantra, Swami Ji stated that human life becomes meaningful only when a person follows the Vedic path and attains both spiritual enlightenment and material well-being. He said the Vedas do not reject worldly responsibilities but guide individuals to lead an ideal family life based on righteousness, knowledge, discipline and noble deeds. According to him, one should progress simultaneously in spirituality and material life as prescribed in the Vedas, thereby attaining prosperity, family happiness and ultimately Moksha. He added that without spiritual advancement, human beings continue to suffer from various sorrows including the pain experienced in the mother's womb, the hardships of old age and the inevitability of death, which deprive them of lasting peace and happiness. |
