Citizen's conclave held in support of Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan

JAMMU, May 18: In solidarity with the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan led by Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Sh. Manoj Sinha, a meaningful citizen's conclave was organised today at K.C. Residency by the Council for Public Accountability (CPA) in collaboration with the Vijay Kumar Mahajan Charitable Trust. The programme witnessed participation from distinguished dignitaries and prominent citizens committed towards building a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.
The audience comprised former Vice Chancellors, officers from civil and police administration, judges, doctors, architects, professors, professionals from different fraternities, prominent members of civil society, and representatives from business houses.
The event commenced with registration, a signature wall campaign, and video messages supporting the anti-drug movement.
Program Coordinator CPA, Ar. Vishal Abrol, highlighted the urgent need for collective social responsibility and sustained public participation to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society.
An insightful address on "Drug Abuse Prevention" highlighted awareness, counselling, family support, and community intervention as key pillars in combating addiction.
Rajesh Gupta, President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad JK Ladakh, in his keynote address stressed the importance of citizen participation and collective societal action in strengthening the anti-drug campaign at grassroots level.
An interactive session was also held wherein participants shared valuable views and suggestions regarding awareness generation, youth engagement, counselling support, and coordinated community action.
Chief Guest DIG Shridhar Patil, IPS, addressed the gathering and called upon all stakeholders to unite against the growing challenge of narcotics and substance abuse. He urged citizens, institutions, parents, and youth to actively contribute towards safeguarding society from this menace. DIG Shridhar Patil, IPS, also administered the anti-drug pledge to the participants.
Pledge certificates in support of the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan were also distributed among the participants as a symbol of their commitment towards a healthier and drug-free society.
The programme concluded with Asheer Vachan by Brahma Kumari Sudershan Didiji and a formal vote of thanks presented by Ms. Chhavi Chowdhary.
