SKK, Jandial Trust, give away cash awards to school toppers

JAMMU, May 29: At a function, the meritorious Divyangjan of the School for Hearing Handicapped were felicitated with Cash Awards. These awards were presented by the former DGPs Kuldeep Khoda and Dr Ashok Bhan, both Life members of the SKK. The President of SKK, K B Jandial was also present.
The J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK)awarded Cash prizes to the school toppers of the 10th, 11th and 12th classes in the J&K Board of School Education for the session 2025-26. The 12th topper, Koustab Singh got SKK cash award of Rs 4000/- while the 11th class topper Nattika Sharma was given cash award of Rs 3500/- The topper of 10th class Sahil Kumar got cash award of Rs 2500/-
The SKK has been giving cash awards to the toppers to recognise the outstanding academic performance of these Divyangjan in BOSE examinations for the last seven years. Similarly, the subject teachers are also given a cash incentive for distinctions secured by Divyang students in 11th & 12th class. This incentive scheme has been introduced in 2024-25 to recognise the hard work of the teachers.
Smt Gian Devi Jandial Charitable Trust has also been giving cash awards to class toppers for the last four years. Cash awards of Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 were given to Koustab Singh, Nattika Sharma and Sahil Kumar respectively.
In addition, a separate Anita Raina memorial scholarship for poor and meritorious girl divyang students were also given on the occasion. Five girls who got this scholarship are Kanak of 2nd class, Palak kumari of 5th class, Risalat Sabri of 5th class, Neha Sharma of 8th class and Poonam of 10th class. Each one of them was given Rs 3000/-
B K Raina, Advisor of the SKK, has instituted this scholarship in the name of his wife Anita Raina who passed away two years ago. He has deposited Rs two lakhs in FDR and these scholarships are given out of interest in the bank. Raina also distributed stationary items to these students.
Khoda and Dr Bhan lauded the outstanding academic performance of these Hearing Handicapped students and said that the Teaching Faculty and the Management are commended for continuously getting cent percent results and distinctions at BOSE examinations.
B K Raina, Brig ( Dr) Rakesh Khajuria, Vice President of SKK, J K Vaid, General Secretary, Prem Gupta, C L Banal & Nisar Ahmad, all former IGP, Dr Sudarshan Kumar former DG DRDO, Vinod Padha, Executive Director and O P Sharma Treasurer CGPWA were also present.
