Early Times Report RAMBAN, June 11: Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range, Ms. Sargun Shukla, IPS today chaired a high level security review meeting at the District Police Office Ramban to assess the prevailing security situation, law & order arrangements, and preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. At the outset, Sh Arun Gupta JKPS SSP Ramban welcomed the participants comprising of officers from Army, CRPF, Police, CISF, BSF, SSB, IB, CID and Civil Administration.The meeting began with the detailed insightful presentation by Sh ALYAS Khan DC Ramban on the upcoming SANJY 2026 affairs who was a special invitee.It followed with the brief sum up of security arrangements being ensured by the district police for d Add mouth and incident free Yatra affairs.The participants also apprised the senior officers of their respective preparations She emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all security and civil agencies and urged the District Administration Ramban to ensure suitable accommodation and necessary logistical support for the deployed forces. The meeting witnessed participation from senior officers of the Army, CAPFs, Civil Administration, traffic Police, Armed ring Intelligence Agencies, National Highway Authority of India,Fire and Emergency services and other stakeholder departments. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on intelligence inputs, anti militancy operations, highway security, Yatra convoy movement, disaster preparedness, traffic regulation, and inter agency coordination mechanisms. Special focus was laid on security arrangements along NH-44, anti-sabotage checks at vulnerable locations, contingency plans for landslides and road accidents in view of the forthcoming monsoon season, and ensuring uninterrupted movement of pilgrims. The DIG stressed upon maintaining a high state of alertness, round the clock area domination, and strengthening the counter infiltration grid in the upper reaches. She directed all officers to ensure seamless synergy among all stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the Yatra and maintenance of overall law and order. She further directed all CAPF officers to ensure that the personnel deployed for Yatra duties are adequately familiarized and acclimatized with their respective areas of responsibility well before the commencement of the pilgrimage. She also cautioned security personnel against falling prey to honey trap tactics and other deceptive methods employed by adversarial elements to extract sensitive information regarding security establishments and deployments. The DIG emphasized the need for activating source networks, conducting surprise nakas, proper briefing of deployed personnel, and ensuring the welfare and morale of troops on the ground. Appreciating the preparedness and proactive measures undertaken by District Police Ramban, she observed that the district police has remained on point with regard to Yatra preparations and stressed that the momentum and pace of preparedness must be maintained in the coming days. While interacting with field officers, Ms. Sargun Shukla underscored the importance of humane policing and directed all agencies to ensure that the element of compassion remains central while dealing with pilgrims and tourists travelling on the National Highway. |
