Jammu, July 8: To provide a smooth, safe and dignified travel experience to pilgrims arriving from across the country for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, Northern Railway, Jammu Division has made special arrangements at Jammu Railway Station on a war footing. All necessary arrangements have already been ensured by the Division so that passengers do not face any kind of inconvenience.
At Jammu Railway Station, Railway officers and supervisors are continuously present and monitoring all arrangements. Passenger safety is the top priority, for which RPF and GRP personnel are deployed 24x7 in the station premises. Ticket checking staff are conducting regular patrolling along with GRP and RPF to prevent any untoward incident. To ensure security, the entire station is under 24-hour surveillance through CCTV cameras installed in the War Room, covering every corner. Special attention is also being given to punctuality of trains. In case of any train delay, passengers are being informed immediately through the Public Announcement System and SMS.
For the convenience of pilgrims, Help Desks and Information Centers have been set up at the station where all travel-related information and guidance is being provided. Adequate drinking water arrangements have been made on platforms and additional sanitation staff have been deployed to maintain cleanliness. The First Aid Center is functioning round the clock to deal with any emergency. Important announcements related to trains and the yatra are also being made at regular intervals so that passengers receive timely and accurate information.
Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Shri Uchit Singhal is personally visiting the station and continuously reviewing all special arrangements. He is also issuing necessary instructions to officers to further improve passenger facilities.
On this occasion, Shri Uchit Singhal said, “Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is a symbol of faith and devotion. Our officers, supervisors, RPF and GRP teams are working day and night together. Our aim is that every passenger gets all necessary facilities from entry to departure at the station. We are continuously monitoring the situation and additional arrangements will also be made as required. All devotees are requested to follow railway announcements and make their journey comfortable.”
Jammu Division appeals to all passengers to listen carefully to the announcements being made at the station and for any assistance, contact Rail Madad 139 or the Help Center located at the station.
