Early Times Report JAMMU, July 10: Jodhamal Public School, in collaboration with the Good School Alliance (GSA) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), successfully organized a Financial Literacy Workshop for its teaching and administrative staff. The initiative aimed to enhance financial awareness and equip educators with the knowledge and skills required to make informed financial decisions. The workshop was supported by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), reflecting a shared commitment to promoting financial awareness and responsible investing among educators. The event brought together eminent educationists, industry leaders, and school administrators for meaningful deliberations on the evolving dimensions of literacy in the twenty-first century. While the primary focus remained on financial literacy, the discussions underscored that literacy today extends far beyond the traditional realms of reading and writing to encompass digital, financial, health, media, and civic literacy. The sessions emphasized that nurturing these essential competencies is vital to preparing students to become informed, responsible, and future-ready citizens. The workshop was led by Surya Kant Sharma, former Deputy General Manager of SEBI, and Senior Consultant of Association of Mutual Fund in India who served as the Lead Resource Person. Drawing on his extensive experience in financial regulation and investor education, he delivered an engaging session on personal financial planning, savings, investments, mutual funds, retirement planning, and safeguarding against financial fraud. The programme was conducted in association with Mr. Jugjiv Singh, Governing Council Member of the Good School Alliance, whose efforts continue to promote financial literacy and professional development within educational institutions. Mr. Kunal Rajpurohit of the Good School Alliance was the master of ceremony. The Chief Guest, Prof. Alka Sharma, Dean, Business Studies and Director, SIIEDC, appreciated Jodhamal Public School for taking the initiative to empower its staff with financial knowledge. The interactive workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school's teaching and administrative staff, who actively engaged in discussions and sought expert guidance on investment planning, mutual funds, risk management, tax-saving instruments, and investor protection.
