| SSP Samba holds PCPG meting at BPP Chilla Danga, calls for stronger police-public coordination | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 3: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Sh. Anuj Kumar-IPS, today conducted a PCPG meeting at Border Police Post (BPP) Chilla Danga under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, with an aim to further strengthen police-public relations and enhance community participation in maintaining peace and security.The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of area, including prominent citizens, youth and local residents. Addressing the gathering, SSP Samba advised citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with Police by sharing information related to drug peddling and other unlawful activities. SSP Samba emphasized that drug abuse poses a serious threat to society, particularly to the younger generation and stressed that collective efforts from all stakeholders are essential to eradicate this social evil. SSP Samba warned strict action against the people indulging in drug trafficking, bovine smuggling and other criminal activities. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the area and its past militancy-related incident, SSP Samba particularly urged the members of the VDGs to remain vigilant and actively coordinate with the Police. He called upon VDG members to lay nakas and undertake joint patrolling with Police personnel at vulnerable points and in their respective areas to strengthen the security grid and deter any attempts by anti-national and anti-social elements to disturb peace. During the programme, the chairing officer patiently listened to the issues and concerns raised by the participants and assured them that their genuine grievances would be addressed. On the occasion, Addl. SP Samba, DySP SOG Samba, SHO Police Station Samba and other Police Officers/officials were also present. |
