Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 3: With an aim to enhance the professional capabilities of investigating officers, Samba Police today organized a one-day workshop on "Handling of Digital Evidence" at the Conference Hall, DPO Samba. The workshop was attended by all SHOs, Incharges of Police Posts and Investigating Officers of Samba Police. The programme focused on sensitizing police personnel about the procedures and best practices involved in the identification, collection, seizure, preservation, analysis and presentation of digital evidence during investigations. The resource person Er. Vikas Razdan, Forensic Expert from SIA Jammu, delivered an extensive and informative lecture on various critical aspects of digital forensics and investigation. He provided practical insights into the challenges faced by investigating officers while dealing with electronic and digital evidence and emphasized the importance of following proper forensic procedures to maintain the integrity and admissibility of evidence. The workshop also highlighted the growing significance of digital evidence in modern criminal investigations, particularly in cases involving cybercrime, financial fraud, social media, mobile communications and other technology-enabled offences. SSP Samba while speaking on the occasion, emphasized the increasing importance of digital forensics in present-day policing. He urged all participating officers to make maximum use of the expertise and experience shared by the resource person and utilize the opportunity to further enhance their professional skills and investigative capabilities. |
