| Extension of operational period of Chhapra-Pathankot weekly special train, passengers to get major relief during festive season | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 8: Keeping in view the convenience of passengers travelling from North India to Bihar during the festive season, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has taken an important decision. With the aim of accommodating the extra rush of passengers and making their journey smooth, the Railway Administration has extended the operational period of the weekly special train No. 05193/05194 Chhapra - Pathankot - Chhapra. This special train will now continue to operate for additional trips as per its existing route, time-table, halts and coach composition. At present, train No. 05193/05194 is operational till 28th & 30th August, which has been extended till 23rd & 25th November. Train No. 05193 from Chhapra to Pathankot will run every Monday from 05th October 2026 to 23rd November 2026 for a total of 08 trips, while in the return direction, Train No. 05194 from Pathankot to Chhapra will run every Wednesday from 07th October 2026 to 25th November 2026 for a total of 08 trips. The extension of the operational period of this train will directly benefit passengers of Pathankot, Jammu Division and adjoining areas. This train not only provides an important connectivity facility for passengers going to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, but will also help in reducing the rush during festivals. This additional facility will prove to be a boon for passengers going home, especially on the occasion of Chhath Puja and Diwali. This will also reduce the pressure of waiting list in regular trains and increase the chances of passengers getting confirmed tickets. In this regard, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Shri Uchit Singhal said, "It has always been the endeavour of Indian Railways to provide maximum facilities to passengers as per demand. During the festive season, there is a huge increase in the number of passengers, in view of which the period of Chhapra-Pathankot weekly special train has been extended. This decision reflects our commitment to ensuring passenger convenience and their safe journey. We are confident that our passengers will greatly benefit from this extension." Passengers are requested to confirm the timings and halts of trains from Railway's National Train Enquiry System 139, NTES mobile app or the official website of Railways before starting their journey. |
