Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 8: Continuing its drive to maintain public order and curb drinking and serving of liquor at public places, Police Station RS Pura has taken prompt action against persons found involved in such activities. During the operation, Yaspaul @ Bhola, S/o Basakhi Ram, R/o Puro Bhana, RS Pura, was apprehended for allegedly serving liquor at his meat shop. Two other persons, namely Amit Kumar, S/o Basakhi Ram, R/o Puro Bhana, RS Pura, and Sham Lal, S/o Dwarka Nath, R/o Bolari, RS Pura, were apprehended while consuming liquor at the same shop. Both Amit Kumar and Sham Lal were medically examined and found to be under the influence of liquor. Liquor bottles were also seized from the spot. In this connection, FIR No. 160/2026 under Section 50-A of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura, and further investigation is underway. Jammu Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against individuals found violating the law by consuming or serving liquor at public places. The drive is aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and preserving a peaceful environment for citizens. |
