Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 8: Jammu West MLA Arvind Gupta held a Janata Darbar in Ward No. 32, Nandini, where he interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances and developmental concerns. The programme provided residents an opportunity to directly put forward issues related to civic amenities and other local requirements. Taking immediate cognisance of the concerns raised by the people, Gupta called the entire administrative team to the spot and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials for prompt action. He stressed that public grievances should be addressed efficiently and that officials must ensure timely follow-up on issues brought before them.
A significant announcement made during the programme was the allocation of Rs 20.73 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of a Community Hall at Nandini. The proposed facility will benefit residents of Nandini and Sehora, providing them with a dedicated space for social, cultural and community activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that his priority is to remain connected with the people and ensure that their genuine concerns are resolved at the grassroots level. He said Janata Darbars provide an effective platform for direct interaction between the public, elected representatives and administration.
Gupta said that people should not be compelled to make repeated visits to government offices for resolving routine issues. "Our responsibility is to listen to the people, understand their problems and ensure that the administration responds promptly," he said, emphasizing the need for accountability and responsiveness in public service.
The MLA further said that development of Jammu West remains his foremost priority, adding that efforts are being made to strengthen basic infrastructure and create public facilities that directly benefit residents. He assured the people that genuine demands would be taken up on priority and development works would continue across the constituency in a planned manner.
Gupta also called for close coordination between the administration and local residents to ensure effective implementation and timely completion of development projects.
Mandal President Anil Angral, former Deputy Mayor Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, former Councillor Chaman Lal Bhagat, former Panch Darshan Kumar, Kala Ram, Rajesh Saini, Vicky Kumar, Raj Kumar Raji, Samardeep Singh and a large number of local residents were present.
