District Hospital Poonch becomes hub of corruption

Srinagar, Aug 19:Under the eyes of so called good governance government the doctors demands for corruption by the name of fee. Javid Reshi, the chairman of Insaaf Movement in this regard said many poor people sought his help.
Reshi said an elderly lady of Seri Chouhana said while her daughter in law went to DH for delivery the doctors demanded five thousand rupees from her as fee while the employees of operation theatre got one thousand. She said many other sistrts asha worker and ladies gets more than one thousand rupees as fees and party.
Reshi said a local of Haribudha also said he had paid more than five thousand to serguen, Asha worker and other labour room staff.
He further said a local of Fatehpur said he paid four thousand rupees to serguen, one thousand to operation theatre while he takes his mother to DH for surgery. Reshi said the system of district hospital Poonch is defunct where the authorities of health department are not caring.
He said all gynologists are involved in corruption cases.
He said there are more than eighty percent BPL inhabitants who are not able to pay heavy corruption to doctors, so they borrow money from others and pay to goon type doctors. Reshi said that a committee should be set to investigate the matter and all staff of DH hospital should be transferred as early as possible.
He warned that if the Minister Bali Bhagat and health director fails to solve this matter, the movement in people's interest will hold protest against department.
While asking to Medical Superintendent Dr. Mumtaz Bhatti, he said the action should be taken against involved staff members.
People are anguish over higher authorities of the department and doubted that the director health may also be involved in this matter.
While connecting with deputy commissioner Poonch Muhammed Harun Malik he assured that the action will be taken after publishing of news in newspaper.
