Heavy rush of pilgrims, yatra crosses 80000 mark, 20000 expected at Gulabgarh | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Aug 19: Heavy rush of yatries continuous to witnessed in annual Machail yatra in Kishtwar District as the Chari Mubarak of Matta Chandi reaches Gulabgarh Padder today evening under tight security cover. The Chari Yatra left the Kishtwar town at around 11 AM today accompanied by thousands of devotees. Before left for Gulabgard Padder some 60 KM from Kishtwar, the Chari was kept for Darshan at Parade Ground Kishtwar, where the thousands of devotees pay obeisance and seeks the blessings of goddess Chandi. According to police reports, more than 82068 pilgrims has so far paid obeisance at the Chandi Matta temple since the yatra begins officially. Police officials told "Early Times" that 6356 yatris comprises of 3882 males, 1745 females, 728 children's and 01 Sadhu today visited the temple till 6 PM today. As per the reports from Gulabgard, more than 20000 pilgrims has arrived at Gulabgard in last 24 hours for onwards journey to Machail temple. Due to heavy rush of the pilgrims, the number of the yatris visited the temple will cross 1 lac mark in next few days. After night halt at Gulabgard, the Chari Yatra will leave for Chishoti tomorrow before it reaches Machail on Sunday. |
