Jammu, Aug 19: Akhnoor Police today claimed to have arrested four gamblers and recovered Rs 40,200 as stake money from their possession.
Police identified the arrested as Amit Kumar of Akhnoor, Rameshwar, Ajay Kumar, both residents of Rattanpur, Jourian and Sunny Kumar of Ward Number 5, Akhnoor.
Police sources said that on specific information that gambling is going on at village Dabra near Naiwala, police party of Akhnoor raided the place and arrested four gamblers red-handed along with playing cards and Rs 40,200 as stake money.
All the gamblers were booked under section 13 of Gambling Act and were produced before the court of JMIC, Akhnoor. |
