Jammu, Dec 3: Sarvodaya Public School, Santra Morh Pouni Chak, Jammu, celebrated its Annual Day with great pomp and show here today. Kavinder Gupta the Speaker of J&K State Assembly graced the occasion as the chief guest and Jugal Kishore Sharma member parliament was the guest of honour. The others present on the occasion were Chairman of the school Subash Chander Sharma. The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by welcome speech by the School Head boy, Gurtaj Singh, School Head Girl, Rasleen Kaur, a senior student of Sarvodaya school, narrated her experiences of her Alma Mater.
Programme highlights were Saraswati Vandana, Bhangra, Kud and Kathputli Dance. Tiny Tots of Nursery class made a beautiful presentation with welcome banners.
Beti Ghar ka Maan was a very contemporary number while as Jungle Main Mangal depicted the age old wisdom of Panchtantra. The school principal Shahsi Rattan while presenting the annual report highlighted the vision statement of the school for the next 5 years. A very momentous announcement was made in which the school proposed to provide scholarships and free education to girls students scoring 80% and above in class 8th board examination and free education to girl students scoring above 90%. The school also proposed to provide free education to orphan girl students, who have lost their parents due to terrorist or other violent activities. Students securing positions in various classes and other activities were awarded by the chief guest. The school vice principal Ashok Pandita read out the prize list. Vote of thanks was presented by the principal. The program concluded with a Dogri group song followed by National Anthem. Chief guest in his address praised the efforts of the school management in providing wholesome education at very affordable rates. He also commended the proposal for free education to meritorious students and free education to orphan girl students.
