Vijaypur: Tehsildar defies SDM's order for second time | Mutation of encroached State land not done | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 3: Defying the order of Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Vijaypur for second consecutive time, the Tehsildar has allegedly failed to get the mutation of a piece of state land which has been encroached upon. Sources told Early Times a piece of land at village Bagla Rahya measuring 11 kanals and 14 marlas and bearing khasra No. 1536 was encroached by a local resident Jagdish Singh. The encroacher raised a structure on the grabbed land. "After scrutinizing the documents, the then SDM Vijapur declared the land as State land and issued an order (No. SDM/V/04, dated 14-07-2015) directing the Tehsildar concerned to get the mutation of land as soon as possible. But the Tehsildar didn't comply with the order. Meanwhile after the lapse of two months, the illegal occupant managed to get a stay order from the court," sources said. They said the court dismissed the writ petition filed by petitioner on 17-11-2016 for his failure to appear in the court. The incumbent SDM Vijaypur issued another order (No.SDM/ V/2016-17/2037, dated 30/11/2016) to the same Tehsildar who had failed to comply with the order of previous SDM. The SDM ordered removal of all encroachment. The SDM also directed the Tehsildar to get the mutation under section 24 Big landed Estate Abolition Act, 2007bk entered in the relevant register and put up on spot on 3-12-2016 along with field functionary. The tehsildar, however, again failed to comply with the order. |
