Government harassing RETs in the name of screening test to divert the mind from pending dues
RET teachers without salaries from past half an year

Banihal, Dec 3 : Despite the tall claims of education department and the concerned minister of the department for streamlining the salaries of regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers (RETs) ,thousands of regularized teachers are still without salaries for past five to six months.
A deputation of Rehbar- e- Taleem teachers of Banihal on Saturday lashed out the government and concerned department for not releasing their pending dues of near about half year.
They said that in past many times government are claiming that they have streamlined the salaries of RRETs of the state .
They said that the hollow claims of government regarding the salary disturbed the thousands of teachers of the state specially of Ramban district where teachers are without salaries.
The zonal President of the JK RET teachers forum Banihal Bhar Ahmed Mir said that for not streamlining the salary system of RET teachers government and the department is once again diverting the mind of teachers on the name of screening test which is the violation of court orders.
They said the teachers who are mentioned in the screening test list by the department have got the degrees from UGC recognised universities. They said that many batch mates of these teachers who acquired the degrees from the same universities are selected through SSRB in different departments as well as in education department as general line teachers.
They said that if these employees are selected through SSRB in different government Jobs then how can government asked to RET teachers for screening test.
The deputation alleged that it is nothing else but the harassment and an attempt to divert the mind of teachers by the department.
They questioned the government that how can one expects the better education in the government institutions specially in rural areas when a teacher was with out salary from half of the year. They further said that the despite of these problems including financial problem teachers are giving there best in the schools which results the increase in literacy rate in the state specially in rural areas.
They appealed the government that close the chapter of screening test and release the pending dues of teachers as soon as possible otherwise the RET community will again come on roads. The forum members said that their fourm chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantray has already given the boycott call of screening test and they would boycott the so-called screening test.
The other from members who were present in the deputation including Shafqat Nisar, Mohammad Amin, Nazir Ahmed, Reyaz Ahmed, Ghangir Ghani and others.
