Jammu’s Pride: Nazia, unsung hero of India’s Kho-Kho World Cup triumph | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: Nazia, a 21-year-old from Ban village of Nagrota in Jammu district, has etched her name in history as part of the Indian Women’s Kho-Kho team that claimed victory in the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup. The tournament was held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Delhi, from January 13 to 19.
Today the Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust extended heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to young nomad Gujjar Bakerwal Girl, Nazia Choudhary, who made history by becoming the first player from Gujjar- Bakerwal Tribal Community of Jammu and Kashmir to represent India in the Indian Women’s Kho Kho Team for the World Cup 2025 and won a Gold Medal.

JAMMU, Jan 28: At least 15 people were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine collided with a stationary dumper truck near here on Tuesday, officials said.
The condition of all the injured, including three children and two women, is stated to be “stable”, they said.
The accident took place at Nagrota on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway when the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle, police said.

Srinagar, Jan 28: A Deputy Superintendent of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sustained burn injuries in a fire incident on Tuesday in Srinagar’s upscale Jawahar Nagar area, officials said.
The fire broke out in the official residence of the ACB officer, identified as Hilal Ahmad, on Tuesday morning. During the incident, the officer sustained burn injuries.
Ahmad was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, where his condition is reported to be stable, officials added.
