| DDC reviews I-Day arrangements in Doda | | | DODA, July 16 : The arrangements for celebration of Independence Day were discussed at a meeting of senior functionaries of line departments here today with the Deputy Commissioner, Mubarak Singh in the chair.
Additional District Development Commissioner, G.N Balwan, besides other District and Sectoral officers attended the meeting. The meeting decided to organize the main function in Sports Stadium, where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolor and take salute of the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and School Children. It was also decided that a colourful cultural programme will be presented by the School Children on the occasion.
The DC constituted a team of officers headed by ADDC Doda Mr. G.N Balwan for overall supervision of the arrangements. After a thorough discussion, the meeting took necessary decisions with regard to the arrangements for security, drinking water, power supply at the venue of the function, besides cleanliness and sanitation of the town and venue, barricading of the venue, seating arrangement etc. It was also decided that the function will start with the Shehnai Vadan by the District Information Centre Doda. The DC impressed upon all the officers to put in place all the arrangements well in time for smooth celebration of the Independence Day and directed CEO Doda to ensure maximum participation of Government Schools in the celebrations. |
