Warns strict action against absentees

JAMMU, July 16 : Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry (Independent Charge), Agricultural, Horticulture, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, on Tuesday conducted surprise checking of Chief Agriculture office, Jammu, District Agriculture Office Extension Wing , Central Cattle Breeding and Research Farm & Poultry Farm Belicharana. The Minister checked the attendance register and found two officials of Chief Agriculture office, Jammu absent from duty. He directed for action against the absentees under rules. He stressed for punctuality of employees and warned that any laxity in duty shall be dealt strenuously. He also called for quick disposal of files and early redressal of the problems of the people adding that any official found resorting to unnecessary delay will be punished. The Minster also visited the Central Cattle Breeding and Research Farm & Poultry Farm Belicharana, Jammu of Animal Husbandry Department. At the Cattle farm, he asked the Farm management to go for new cross breeding techniques in order to introduce high milching breeds of Buffalos and Cows for the benefit of the farmers. He suggested for introduction of cross breed Red Sindhi Cows and good quality buffalos.
He recommended for purchasing of 30 cows of Red Sindhi and cross breeding these with good quality Jersey and other breeds of the cow and observe the quantity and quality of milk so that a high milching breed is introduced in the state. He called for encouraging the educated Youth to go for dairy and cattle farming.
The Minister also paid surprise visit to Poultry Feed Mill, Poultry Farms and checked the quality of feeds at Belicharana Jammu. He also sought attendance and found a Doctor absent from his duty and directed the concerned authorities to take action against the official. He issued on the spot instructions to increase the quantity of Day old chicks and issue the same to the poor farming community under Back yard Poultry Scheme.
