Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 11 : The two day National Conference and Exhibition on Emerging and Innovative trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET-14) organized by Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) concluded yesterday at GCET Campus, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu. The second day's programme commenced with the second technical session on paper presentations by the participants followed by the lectures from the eminent speakers, K.R. Suri, Ex GM PGCIL, Sanjeev Dubey, Director Hindustan Sales Corporation and Er. Syed Naseem Akhtar Deputy GM, IRCON. K.R. Suri, delivered a lecture regarding the increase in the availability cum reliability of transmission lines carrying bulk power by using different technical skills. Abdul Hamid Sheikh, Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) and P.L. Bhushan, MD, JKPCC were the Special Guests on the valedictory ceremony. P.B. Jain, GM, Chenab Valley Power Projects delivered the key note address related to management, entrepreneurship and scientific innovation. He motivated the participants to exhibit their best innovative ideas and trends in emerging technologies which can be used for the benefit of the society. Abdul Sheikh in his valedictory address emphasized upon the necessity of the technological changes in the present era in view of the growing influence of Science and Technology in various spheres of life. He stressed upon the need of the eco-friendly innovative technological revolutions. A total of 75 Papers were received for publication from all over the India out of which 55 were accepted for publication in the Conference Proceedings after peer reviewing. The lime light of the conference was the interactive session of the students with the representatives of various industries/ companies such as Power Grid, NTPC, NHPC, J&K Bank, IRCON, DRDO, JKPDC, NIELET, Konkan Railways, Anchor, Scientech, Hindustan Sales Corporation, Aggarwal Traders. Certificates were distributed among the participants in the presence of Dr.Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET and the distinguished guests. Ms. Sonika Gupta, Hiteshwar Sharma, Tarun Vashnav were awarded for the best technical paper presentations. NIT Kurukshetra was awarded for the best project display. A special prize was given to Er. Neeraj Gupta of GCET for his Philately Exhibition as a tribute to Great Indian Engineer. |
