RAJOURI, Jan 11: In connection with Army Day scheduled for January 15, various units, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (CIF), Romeo Force, have been promoting awareness about national Integration. In this connection these Rashtriya Rifle (RR) Units based at Rajouri and Poonch districts and as a prelude to Army Day, organized screening of patriotic movies, motivational movies, awareness lectures, motivational talks on joining Army and various competitions for the locals. These functions were held at Piragali, Balakote, Harni, Mendhar (in Poonch district) and at Saj and Hanjanwali in Rajouri district. Lt Col Manish Mehta , PRO defence (Jammu) said that these events have given the youth an opportunity to showcase their talent and know various avenues available to join Indian Army. He added that efforts are being made for better future of local youth by the Indian Army and the same was appreciated by parents and teachers. "These youth will be motivated to play their role as responsible citizens of the nation. The villagers also praised Army and said that the Army was helping them in all fields and this has strengthened the bond between the locals and the Army" said a senior officer from Romeo Force. The Army Day is being celebrated across Northern Command with a theme, "Indian Army : Friend of the Awam - In War & Peace". |
