Jammu, Jan 11: The 5th Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship 2014-2015 organized, here today, jointly by the J&K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua in the memory of Shaheed Dy.SP Manjeet Singh and other Brave Hearts of J&K Police, who made supreme sacrifice by laying down their lives for the sake of nation, was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Jammu, in Sports Stadium Kathua. Shakeel Ahmed Beig, Dy. Inspector General of Police Jammu-Kathua Range, SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar, SP Headquarters Nasir Ahmed Khan and Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commission, Kathua among other officers of Police Department and Civil Administration, Families of Police Martyrs and other respectable citizens also witnessed in the opening ceremony of the Championship. The first match of the Championship was played between RCC Udhampur and Stadium-XI Kathua. The toss was won by Stadium XI Kathua and chooses to bat first and scored 161 runs in allotted 20 overs. Sh. Pankaj Ladda 70 Runs in 54 balls was the top scorer while Shiv Dutt contributed 24 Runs. In reply to the Satadium XI Kathua, RCC Udhampur were all out for just 46 Runs in less than 10 overs, thereby Stadium XI Kathua winning by 115 runs of the opening match of the tournament. Pankaj Ladda was declared man of the match who was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 1000/- and a trophy. |
