| GOC White Knight Corps celebrate Army day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 14: Sixty Seventh (67) Army Day this year was celebrated at White Knight Corps with the theme "Indian Army : Pride of the Nation - In War and Peace". As a runup to this Army Day, number of events were organised in the entire Corps Zone. While few schools organised essay and handwriting competitions others have conducted painting, debate and elocution competitions wherein school children participated with full fervor. Army organised friendly volleyball matches whereas locals have also participated with full josh. At certain places street plays and Swachh Bharat Campaigns were also conducted wherein the participation by the locals was applauded by each and everyone. As over the Army also organised medical camps at number of places for uplifting the health and hygiene conditions of the locals, in addition equipment and weapon display events were also done to foster confidence of the local. The young and impressionable minds were counseled and motivated to join Indian Army through "Join the Indian Army" campaign. On the occasion of the 67th Army Day, Lt Gen KH Singh, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps extended heartiest greeting and good wishes to all ranks of Army, civilians, Ex-servicemen and their families in the Corps Zone. The General Officer commended the dedication, patriotism and unflinching sense of duty displayed by all ranks in safeguarding the Line of Control, valiantly fighting the scourge of militancy and responding to natural calamities with utter disregard to personal safety. As we move ahead, Indian Army pledges to rededicate itself in the service of the Nation, whose safety, security and integrity remains highest in its minds. |
